Oil spill Commission
The Oil Spill Commission Action project is an outgrowth of this National Commission regarding the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling, which President Obama created in reaction to the person and ecological disasters resulting from the surge of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig into the gulf coast of florida in April, 2010. The Commission undertook a comprehensive research to determine the factors that cause the catastrophe and to measure the responses to and impacts for the oil spill.
The Commission granted its final report (see site Center) in January, 2011. The report contained several tips centered on making offshore power manufacturing safer, boosting the united states’s power to react to spills, and coping with the considerable impacts of the Gulf spill.
The Commissioners, however, weren't pleased with simply providing a written report. They want to carry on their attempts to see that their tips are now implemented so that the country can move forward with offshore drilling and production in a safer and more environmentally responsible way.
